STONE ROSES REUNION DOCUMENTARY
STORY
The Stone Roses announced their reunion for three sell-out shows in October 2011 at a soecially called press conference. The gigs scheduled for June and July this year at Machester's Heaton Park are to be part of a planned documentary by Shane and Warp Films.
After the October press-conference, Warp Film producer commented:
"We filmed the press conference last week but until we finish post on This is England 88 in December nothing will be finalised," he said. "We just jumped at the chance to film the announcement. Exciting tho!"
Shane also commented on the new on the forum of this site, saying:
"There should be a statement out about it soon but in brief, once TIE88 is in the bag, me and mark are gonna talk to the band and financiers (C4/Film4 first of course) about getting it rolling. The fact that they happen to be my all time favourite band that there ever was, has been or will ever be, means that it will defo be bumped to the top of the 'to do' list if I can come up with a good enough idea. I missed Spike Island, I'm not missing this frikker!!!!"
CURRENT STATUS
Still nothing seems to be 100% confirmed, but Shane has expressed how truly gutted he will be if the documentary doesn't go ahead. See NME article HERE.

THIS IS ENGLAND '90
STORY
Following on from the events of This Is England '86....
This Is England '88 is set around the Christmas period.
This Is England '90 will be set around the birth of rave culture.
CURRENT STATUS
This Is England '90 is scheduled to go into production in 2012 and will be a full series of TV episodes.
KNOWN CAST
Jack O'Connell is expected to make a return in This Is England '90

BEWARE THE DEVIL
STORY
From an interview with Shane on the Empire magazine website:
“It’s based on a book of the same name, based on the life of a guy who, by getting involved with ouija boards and the occult by trying to disprove it, trying to take the piss out of it, got possessed, had to be exorcised, and later became an exorcist himself. The guy it happened to has died, but his son’s a novelist, and he helped him turn it into a book before he passed away, and now I’m working with him to turn it into a film.”
CURRENT STATUS
Beware the Devil is now expected to be Shane's next major feature film project.

THE LIVING ROOM
(Short documentary film about musician Gavin Clark)
The following is an edited version of a message which Shane
left on the FORUM:
Now the madness (of This Is England) has
finally died down, I will be making my first short film since
Northern Soul in the next month.. It is a documentary about
Gavin Clark (of the bands, Sunhouse and Clayhill) and his new
Solo accoustic album that we are recording in his Living room
at the moment.
The idea came about a few weeks ago when I dropped in to see
Gavin after Clayhill's tour of America (supporting Beth Orton)
and found him sat with the Yellow Pages looking for a job delivering
Pizzas! It turned out that the Record company had ran out of
money after the last album and had dropped the band that very
morning. The idea of Gav delivering pizzas again at 37 made
me wanna puke up and I got in touch with Mark (my producer)
about trying to get the funds to make an album and short film
that could get Gav known to a wider audience and hopefully get
him re-signed as a solo artist in the process.
Gavin Clark
Now me and Gav go back a very long way and
I have always been baffled as to why his work remains largely
undiscovered. My own tinpot theory is this: His home recordings
(just him and guitar) are amongst the most beautiful and touching
songs I have ever heard, but that maybe the process of then
taking those songs into a studio with a band somehow takes away
some of the raw emotion. So I asked Gav if he had any new solo
stuff that I could listen to, he set the Tascam running and
left the room. When he came back in I had a great feckkin lump
in my throat. I was like "This is what you need to release,
This is You!".
So the idea was born and the Album is underway. The filming
is gonna take place over the next few weeks and will culminate
in Gavin playing his first ever Solo gig in the living room
where it all began. Analogue blogs to follow...
CURRENT STATUS
The filming and the edit are completed.. Currently awaiting further news about the date and method of it's release!

KING OF THE GYPSIES
STORY
This feature film project about the life of bare-knuckle boxing
champion Bartley Gorman has been Shane's dream project for
many years.
CURRENT STATUS
In the light of This Is England's box office success and soaring
DVD sales, it appears that Shane may now have access to all
the financial backing he needs to do the story justice.
Shane and producer Mark Herbert are scheduled to meet with Film4 during October 2007 for preliminary discussions.
Shane and Paddy Considine should begin writing the film this winter (2007).
